April Happenings

Whew...    Life has been Crazy with a capital C.   It seems like I blink and another month has flown by.  On one hand it is good because most of the crazy is with work and I never complain about being busy with work.  On the other hand I can't seem to ever catch up and I feel like life is going at a super sonic speed.

I try REALLY hard to involve Emerson with as much activity outside the house as possible.  With my hectic schedule it is so hard but I know its important.  Our local Barnes and Noble holds a children's hour each week I thought I would check it out.  We invited Rhylan to join us and the girls just loved it.  They both adore books so much so it was perfect.

We ended our day together with a lunch at Chick Fil A..  As you can see by their smiles this was a hit as well.  :))

Another milestone hit this month.  Em's first trip to the dentist.  She is very passionate about brushing her teeth so I was not worried about how this visit would go.  She talks about the Tooth Fairy daily and knows she has to take care of her teeth for the tooth fairy to visit.  I'm not sure how long this will last but I'm taking advantage of it while it lasts.  As expected the dentist was a huge success and as we left Em says to me "momma I love this place"   SCORE!!

We've really been working on the ABC's lately.  So one night last week Em was singing and I was able to catch it on video.  She's getting closer to getting them down pat.

These two are just a kick.  Griffin will let this child do just about anything to him.  Including bundling him up like a baby and reading a story to him.

Holidays are becoming so fun at this age.   Up until this last year Emerson just really didn't get into them much.  Easter was no exception.  She has a little party at school with an Easter Egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Her little school buddy Lexi.

She wasn't exactly sure about the Easter Bunny once she saw him..  But she did run up to him to make sure he knew we would be in Texas at Easter.  :)

We headed to Texas on Thursday.  It was a whirlwind trip but so good to see the rest of the family and enjoy some time away.

Em just loves her Cousin Blake.

We had a house full for Easter.   The kids woke up to hunt eggs from the Easter Bunny then another hunt in the middle of the day.   Em had a kick hunting for everything left from the Easter Bunny.

A little bit of this and that.

Sorry for my lack of blogging.  Life, as usual, has been busy.

This year we have seen enough snow that I would be fine if I didn't see anymore for a couple of years.  Thankfully Emerson loves the stuff which makes it a little more acceptable.  But it puts such a damper on work and life in general..    Mom bought Em a sled so of course we had to give that sucker a spin.  And it was a hit.  We started slow with the slop in the front yard then moved on to a little bigger hill at the park.  I'm guessing by next year she will be ready for the big kid slopes.

A very proud Em Kate with her first little snowman.

Wheeeeeee!!!

I've been back and forth on whether I wanted to sign Em up for Gymnastics or Dance.  Once I decided Gymnastics was the way to go I researched where to go and then I just waited until she was the right age to get everything out of it.  When she turned 3 Zuzu presented her with the gift of enrollment at the gym I choose..  so of course we didn't skip a beat and got her signed up ASAP.

She's been to two classes now and its a huge hit.  Emerson empresses me with her focus and attention to the teachers.  Of course now I notice her flipping off things at home that she never tried before so I can only image how things will look once she really gets going with this.  So excited to see what the future brings.  Do I have a future Olympian on my hands.  :))  Dream on momma.

On day last weekend I was sitting in the floor working on some furniture I have been re-finishing.   So Em decided to get my tools and do some work on her own.  I'm not exactly sure where she saw what a mechanic does but it was funny nonetheless.

Then she went straight from mechanic to Barbara Walters..  This child definitely has the imagination.

A couple of weeks back it was our weekend at the cabin.  We had Aunt Egg (Meg) come from Kansas City..  then as a surprise to Meg I had Lisa and Chad join as well.  It was a gorgeous weekend and so fun to spend it with some of my favorite people.  As you can see Emerson loved the company too.

A group of us gathered to celebrate Lances 40th birthday.    A few shots of the night.

a few nights later we let the kiddos play.   Em and Charlie and all the dinosaurs

Sniff sniff.   Emerson Kate's first school picture.  The child looks 10 to me.   Cutie toot.

Her class.
This picture cracks me up.  All the kids looked very spooked.  So I'm only guessing the photographer had to do something crazy to get all their attention.  :)

Till next time.
